About Me

My name is Jade O’Connor, and my journey with art began at the age of ten. After stepping away from painting for several years, I rediscovered my creativity during the first covid lockdown, where I fell in love with abstract fluid art. What started as a curiosity quickly became a passion, and I spent countless hours studying and experimenting with the techniques and process. I began sharing my work on social media, joined a local art group, and started attending — and continuing to attend — art fairs. Creating art has become an essential part of my mental health journey, offering both healing and expression. I’ve truly fallen in love with the process itself, allowing my creativity to flow freely and turn emotion into movement and colour.

My first solo exhibition

Gretta McCormack O’Shea was one of the most important people in my artistic journey. She believed in me when I doubted myself and gave me the confidence to keep creating from the heart. She made my first solo exhibition possible, taking care of everything and making the night unforgettable. Losing her has left a deep space in my creative life, but I know she is still with me. I carry her belief in every piece I make, and I continue to create in her honour, always striving to make her proud.

Anything is possible

I want people to know that anything is possible through art. As someone who has battled depression, I've discovered the healing power of creativity. My art saved me, and I believe it can set others free too. I hope to inspire others to embrace their own creative potential and find solace and strength through artistic expression.
